In God's Love We Learn!
Last term Year 6 started a new topic in their ICT lessons. They had to become fundraisers, and so they decided to turn to the idea of having a Dragon's Den panel and creating a small enterprise in a group. Each group had to think of what would sell well and how they would be able to pay for the materials. The groups created their powerpoint presentations and samples and faced the panel of Dragons - if they were successful then school would lend them the money. Thankfully, they were successful.
The children decided that the profit they would raise would go towards two charities that the school has supported previously, Joseph's Goal and Joining Jack.
In total, Year 6 raised £474.67, including a fantastic donation of £100 from Isuzu Trucks. The assembly was attended by all of Key Stage 2 along with Joseph's Grandparents on behalf of Joseph's Goal and Amy who represented Joining Jack. The Year 6 children gave cheques to Amy and Joseph's Grandparents along with a place mat for both Joseph and Jack. Each charity was very delighted and grateful for the money that Year 6 had raised.
After the assembly the Year 6 pupils and representatives gathered outside for a group picture for the Wigan Observer local newspaper.
