Nursery ~ Summer 2015
This term we have had an amazing experience watching eggs hatch into baby chicks. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about caring and nurturing living beings and have hands on experience which was enjoyed by all. At first we watched the eggs in the incubator. Just before they hatched we could see them wobbling and hear cheeping from within the egg. Once they hatched we transferred them into the brooder box so that we could hold them gently in our hands.
During the Summer term we used our hall time to participate in Write Dance sessions. We listen to a piece of music and interpret the song through dance. We use gross motor movements during our dance and then use our fine motor skills to record our response to the music on paper. These sessions are really helping to improve our early handwriting skills.
Teddy bears picnic
Last week’s teddy bears picnic was a great success in Nursery. The children brought in their favourite teddy bear from home and made their own sandwich and fairy cake for the picnic.
Everyone agreed that the teddies had had a wonderful day!
