Modern Foreign Languages
MFL Road Map
My passion / personal experiences with MFL
I love MFL, especially French, because I enjoy seeing children become excited and confident when learning a new language.
Experiences in our school
At our school, pupils are eager to join in, sing, speak and try new words without worrying about making mistakes, which creates such a positive learning environment. I also love that MFL allows children to explore different cultures and develop important communication skills from a young age.
Hope and goals in MFL
My hopes and aspirations for the future of MFL are to continue making languages accessible to all pupils in KS2, enabling them to create, develop and build confidence in their language skills. I want children at Saint Aidan's to see language learning as something fun, exciting and enjoyable, where they feel confident to have a go without fear of making mistakes. I also hope to provide aspirational learning opportunities that prepare pupils for the future, including their transition to High School, while encouraging a lifelong interest in languages and different cultures.
